Thank You Holy Trinity School

A check for $612.56 for the Great River Honor Flight was presented to American Legion Post #82 on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. Accepting the check is Commander Todd Shields and Adjutant Dan Vice. The donation from elementary students at Holy Trinity School was presented by the Boyle family, dad James himself an Air Force veteran, along with their 5 children, Anastasia, Claudia, Maria, Ambrose & Victoria. The monies have been collected over the years for ‘dress down’ and offertory.

Thank You Masonic Temple

The Masonic Temple in Quincy makes donation to Honor Flight

The Masonic Temple in Quincy hosted a Sloppy Joe luncheon during the 2023 Tin Dusters Show. Participants were treated to a sandwich, baked beans, chips and cookies in return for a donation. 

A check for $1,000 was presented to Great River Honor Flight from proceeds of that event.

2023 Blandinsville Cook off

for Honor Flight

August 26, local businesses in Blandinsville, led by 2 Doors Down and Runner Farms held their annual cook off for Great River Honor Flight. This is the 8th year this event has been held to raise money for the program as well as for upkeep and improvements to the Veterans Memorial in that community. This year's donation came to $4,500 which puts the overall total at $35,427.


Great River Honor Flight has been providing FREE flights to Washington DC since 2010 for local area veterans. To date, 2,193 local veterans have participated in the program.

2023 RALLS COUNTY HONOR FLIGHT

SXS RIDE DONATES OVER $15,000

On October 14th the 6th Annual Ralls County Honor Flight Side by Side Ride was held. Over 450 participants from Missouri, Illinois, Iowa and Kansas took part in the event. They traveled over 90 miles thru gravel roads and trails in private farms to raise money for Great River Honor Flight. 


Our thanks to the participants, volunteers and sponsors who gave of their money and time to support our area veterans.


Special thanks to Sharon Lake, who was the founder of the ride and works many hours to set it all up.

Don Collop of Mid America Chuck Wagon Association presents a $1,500 donation to Great River Honor Flight Chair, Carlos Fernandez at the homecoming of Mission 68.

Veterans and staff from WisPak in Wuincy, Illinois present Great River Honor Flight a donation of $1,050 from a recent company picnic where they put on a variety of games to help raise the funds.

Macomb Heritage Days Auto Show 

The Macomb Heritage Days Auto Show presented the proceeds of a 50/50 raffle to Great River Honor Flight on Saturday, June 24.

Auto Show representative Amy Royet presented the donation of $285 to Honor Flight board member Annette Hoskins.

Knapheide Manufacturing

Employees of Knapheide Manufacturing in Quincy presented Great River Honor Flight with a donation of $670 raised from a Jeans Day fundraiser. Veteran employees participated in the check presentation, some of which had been part of previous Honor Flight missions.

Carthage Veterinary Service and Professional Swine Management 

The Employee Volunteer Steering Committee of Carthage Veterinary Service and Professional Swine Management presented a check for $1,500 to Great River Honor Flight to help pay for veterans to go on a future mission to DC.

Harrison Pub in Quincy presented board members of Great River Honor Flight with a donation of $1,027.50.

Money was raised from an Adult Kickball Tournament held in Johnson Park on May 20th. Proceeds also went to the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy's Veterans Activity Fund.
